TL;DR

What changed:

  • Airtable’s Master Subscription Agreement, the contract for customers with an order form, is now dated November 2, 2026.

  • The old contract said: “At any time before or within thirty (30) days after termination or expiration of this Agreement, Customer may download Customer Data directly from the Services.”

  • The new contract keeps only “At any time before termination or expiration of this Agreement,” so the 30 days after the end are gone.

  • If you do not ask Airtable to remove your data, “Airtable may downgrade Customer’s account (including all workspaces and user accounts) to Airtable’s Free plan.”

  • Airtable’s subprocessor list now names “Bending Spoons S.p.A” as an affiliate, after Bending Spoons bought Airtable.

What to do: If you plan to leave Airtable, download your data before your contract ends and ask Airtable in writing to remove it.

The change

Airtable published a new Master Subscription Agreement dated November 2, 2026. The version it replaces was dated May 31, 2024 and was still posted in August 2026. This is the contract for companies that buy Airtable through an order form rather than on its website.

Three days earlier, on October 30, 2026, Airtable also updated its subprocessor list. It now names Bending Spoons, the Italian company that bought Airtable this year, as one of the affiliates that may help deliver the service.

What changed

  • No time to export after the end. The contract no longer lets you download your data in the 30 days after it ends.

  • Deletion only if you ask. Most customers must request removal. If they do not, Airtable may move the account to the Free plan.

  • Backups are handled separately. After removal, “Customer Data may persist in Airtable’s backups and/or archival systems until it is permanently deleted in accordance with Airtable’s standard data deletion procedure.”

  • Admins speak for the company. “Customer acknowledges that Administrators have broad authority over Customer’s account and shall be responsible for all actions taken by Administrators in connection with the Services.”

  • Notices can go to any admin. “Notices to Customer shall be sent to any Customer address listed on the applicable Order Form, or to any Administrator on Customer’s account.”

  • Bending Spoons is on the list. The subprocessor list now includes “Bending Spoons S.p.A” with operations in Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Your data after the contract ends

The old contract gave customers a buffer. It said: “At any time before or within thirty (30) days after termination or expiration of this Agreement, Customer may download Customer Data directly from the Services.”

The new sentence stops at the end date: “At any time before termination or expiration of this Agreement, Customer may download Customer Data directly from the Services.” If a contract ends before your team has exported its bases, the contract no longer gives you extra days to do it.

The Free plan fallback

The old contract said Airtable would remove customer data within 90 days of a request at the end of the term. The new contract splits customers into two groups.

  • Customers with a data residency product or a health data agreement with Airtable get automatic removal from production systems within 90 days, “whether or not Customer requests such removal.”

  • Everyone else gets removal within 90 days only “upon Customer’s request.” Without a request, “Airtable may downgrade Customer’s account (including all workspaces and user accounts) to Airtable’s Free plan, and continued use of the Services will be subject to the online Airtable Terms of Service applicable to all Free plans.”

The 90 days also cover less than before. The old promise included “backups and/or archives.” The new one covers Airtable’s “production systems, applications, and databases,” and copies in backups stay until Airtable’s standard deletion process removes them.

Bending Spoons on the subprocessor list

Bending Spoons agreed in August 2026 to buy Airtable for about $1.28 billion and completed the purchase in September. Airtable’s subprocessor list, last updated October 30, 2026, now names “Bending Spoons S.p.A” under the heading “Affiliates.” The July 6, 2026 version of the list did not include it.

The same update changed a few other entries. OpenAI and Castle Global are now listed for “Global” processing instead of the USA, and Bright Data now lists Germany and Singapore as well as the USA. Anthropic was already on the list in July, as we covered when Airtable added Anthropic as an AI subprocessor.

What got better

  • The promise on AI training is wider. The old contract said Customer Data is not used to train models “used to provide Airtable AI.” The new one says: “For clarity, Customer Data is not used to train generative artificial intelligence models.”

  • Before suspending an account for late payment, Airtable must now give “at least seven (7) days” to pay, up from three business days.

  • Airtable must carry liability and cyber insurance “with per-occurrence and aggregate limits of no less than two million US dollars ($2,000,000).”

  • Airtable no longer excludes its liability for professional services delivered by a partner.

Who this affects

The new contract covers customers with an order form. It says that if your subscription “is on a Free, Team, or Business plan purchased through Airtable’s website,” the Terms of Service apply instead. Those Terms of Service still show “Last Updated: May 31, 2024.”

Your own order form can also override the contract. The agreement says that “in the event of any conflict or inconsistency between this Agreement and an Order Form, the Order Form shall control.” For material changes, Airtable says it “will provide Customer with reasonable notice prior to the effective date of the changes.”

Why this matters

Exit terms are easy to skip when a contract is signed, and they matter most when you are leaving. Other vendors have changed them too: StreamYard can now keep personal data for three years after you leave.

A change of owner is also a good time to check who can process your data. Bending Spoons now appears on Airtable’s list, which is why it pays to monitor AI subprocessors and to monitor vendor terms of service after a vendor is sold.

Potential impact

If you use Airtable, the update raises four practical questions:

  • When does your Airtable contract end, and is your data exported well before that date?

  • Does your order form set its own rules for exporting and deleting data at the end?

  • Who are the admins on your Airtable account, and do they read notices from Airtable?

  • Does your vendor record list Bending Spoons as a party that may process your data?

How Venpo detected it

Venpo monitors Airtable’s legal pages and flagged the new contract on November 2, 2026, with every inserted and deleted line marked. The record is on the Airtable page on Venpo. Every quote in this article was checked against the redline, the live pages, and archived copies at the time of publication.

Business outcome

Teams that see this change can export their data before the contract ends, ask for deletion in writing, and update their vendor records with the new owner. That is what continuous monitoring of vendor legal changes is for.

Key takeaway

Since November 2, 2026, Airtable’s enterprise contract lets you download your data only until the contract ends, removes it only if you ask, and may otherwise move your account to the Free plan, while its subprocessor list now names Bending Spoons as an affiliate.
